Quality Management

Achieving excellence for our customers requires precise compliance, meticulous quality management, outstanding environmental credentials and an exceptional workplace.

Working closely with the pharmaceutical, nutritional, personal care and food products industries means that our packaging is often used for products designed for human consumption. There is simply no room for error and we have worked hard to gain the trust of our long-standing clients..

We are an ISO9001:2015 registered company. We believe quality is not simply inspected – it is built into the product. Our approach is based on Total Quality Management, which is evident from our comprehensive policies and procedures.

Pharmapac Quality lab

Our Quality lab is fully equipped to facilitate multiple measuring techniques. We have reliable and dedicated Quality personnel who ensure that the factory adheres to our strict quality standards.

One of our quality assurance tools is our Micro-Vu high-res vision system. This non-contact, automated vision system provides vivid pictures with optical zoom and instant true digital zoom for fine inspection. Its sensitive touch probe system allows measurement of smaller intricate geometry, giving us even more precise measurements of:

  • Drop testing
  • Leak testing
  • Torque testing

We employ stringent process controls and use dependable tools such as Statistical Process Control (SPC) and automated inspection systems.

All raw materials used in the manufacture of Pharmapac packaging comply with applicable FDA and EU requirements. All plastics used and produced by Pharmapac are BPA / Phthalates free, recyclable, and ideal for thermal destruction and energy recovery.

Production Quality Systems

Our quality system is integrated into our shopfloor Manufacturing Execution System (MES) production system. Because of these systems we are able to track when, where and who packed each and every product. This level of tracking improves quality results and enables us to react when even the most subtle tolerances within specifications begin to change.

The Pharmapac Quality lab and Production facility are both temperature controlled to the same setting, ensuring consistency and uniformity during production and measuring.

Traceability

Traceability is an essential part of our processes. We can trace every step of production back to the batch that each bottle or jar was produced in, and provide the paperwork needed to support this. This is especially important when products go through the wadding (cap liners) process, which we do in-house. Because of this strict traceability focus, batches are precisely monitored and you know exactly what is in each product.

At our Auckland plant we perform:

  • Injection moulding
  • Extrusion blow moulding
  • Injection stretch blow moulding
  • Wadding (cap liners) – several different types, including induction seal and pressure seal

Because these processes do not go to another supplier or sub-contractor, there are no additional costs – and we can keep a close eye on the quality of our products and the timelines we’re working toward.
